Elect
Ted Novelli
Amador County Supervisor
District 3

I have been married for 29 years to Jennifer, who is an Amador County Superior Court Clerk. Jennifer and I have two daughters, Francesca and Giana, who attended Pioneer and Pine Grove Elementary, Jackson Junior High and Amador High School. Francesca now attends college in Santa Barbara, pursuing a degree in nursing. Giana attends San Marcos University, pursuing a degree in psychology and nursing.

I am Active, Involved and Experienced
17-Year Resident of District 3
Served as a Marine in Vietnam
Advanced Education in Criminal Justice
Advanced Education in Water Management
Former Alameda County Deputy Sheriff
Former Tracy Police Officer
Past President & Elected Board Member: Ridgeway Pines Water District
Past Sierra Highlands HOA Board Member

I Am Qualified for This Position
As a 17-year resident of District 3, I have worked at ground-level in neighborhoods of the district. I am active in organizations and community projects in the district. I know the people and issues that face the district. I have been active in governmental affairs in Amador County and I understand the process that is needed to work with Amador County agencies.

My Priorities for District 3
District 3 is facing significant new development. My first priority would be to insure that new development is appropriate and compatible with existing neighborhoods. I will carefully scrutinize each new development proposal in order to make sure the impacts on the District's roads, schools and fire protection are taken into consideration. I will oppose development that is not orderly, environmentally acceptable and takes away from the beauty of District 3.

This is Not a Part-Time Job
I will be District 3's Full-Time Supervisor
Recently, the Amador Ledger-Dispatch ran an article that reported one supervisor stated they spend 33 hours in a "soft" week and 50 to 60 hours a week in a "heavy" week doing the job as Supervisor. In the same article, another supervisor pointed out there are 49 committees and commissions on which one or more board members must serve. When elected, I will resign from the Amador Water Agency Board of Directors and will leave my job with the County of Amador. Homeowners and residents I have spoken to within District 3 have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of contact with county officers and I will correct this. There are neighborhoods that need attention and this cannot be handled from an office or over the telephone in the evening. I will be District 3's full-time supervisor.

My "Pet Peeves" Regarding District 3
For many years, Highway 88 was designated as "The Most Scenic in California." Some of the development that has taken place in recent years has taken away from the beauty of our district. We have all seen some of the unsightly developments that have been approved. I will hold future projects to a high standard. Fire protection is not adequate in District 3. Many areas where water lines should have fire hydrants have only inadequate stand pipes. I will give attention to improving fire protection by working with the Fire Safe Council, the County, and any other interested parties to prepare for the fire that could devastate our district. Many upcountry businesses report little support or interest from "down country." I will work to promote District 3 businesses and ensure the County provides assistance and support to District 3's commerce.
